Nayed Discuss with President of DR Congo to Support for Libyan Elections on 24 of December

Aref Nayed, the Chairman of the Ihya Libya Movement, met with the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Chairperson of the African Union, Felix Tshisekedi.

According to a press statement by Ihya Libya, they discussed support for timely Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Libya on 24 December 2021, the role of the African Union in supporting Libya’s national reconciliation, monitoring the elections and ensuring implementation of their results.

Nayed had recently met the President of the Senate, Modeste Bahati Lukwebo, during his visit to the of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and also Claude Ibalanky Ekolomba, Coordinator of the National Monitoring Mechanism of the  Presidency.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo currently holds the presidency of the African Union (AU)
