Ihya Libya Chairman meets with the US Special Envoy and Chargé d’Affaires

The Chairman of Ihya Libya, Dr. Aref Nayed, met this morning with the US Special Envoy to Libya, H.E. Richard Norland, Chargé d’Affaires, H.E. Jeremy Berndt, and team. They discussed the current political, economic and societal conditions in Libya.

They also discussed ways for political parties, social fabric, and civil society to cooperate with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and with the Special Representative for Libya and Head of UNSMIL, H.E. Abdoulaye Bathily, to uphold electoral entitlements at the Municipal, Parliamentary, and Presidential levels soonest, under the supervision of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), and implemented through a single, small technocratic government, and under national, regional, and international monitoring.
