Gaining Consensus on a Way Forward<\/h1>\n

Ihya Libya Vision 2030 is based on extensive consultations involving participation of civil society organizations, community leaders, business leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, students, professional groups, women and youth associations, and media. Consultative forums were largely organized by the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS), and were held in both urban and rural centers throughout Libya and with the Libyan diaspora abroad. The objective of the consultations was to gain national consensus on the key challenges that impede Libya\u2019s progress and potential strategies to create a better future by 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

Proposed transformation projects, which have the potential to resolve key security, economic, human development, and governance challenges, were incubated in a similar consultative process. Transformation projects present workable solutions to the problems Libyans face today based on consensus from national consultations and the experience of countries which have undergone similar transformations.<\/span><\/p>\n
